PEOPLE can have their say on issues including traffic, waste and crime at Calderdale Council's upper valley area forum on Tuesday September 9.
The event at the Birchcliffe Centre, Hebden Bridge, is one of a series of meetings which will be held across the borough to discuss in more depth the issues identified at the area conferences in June and July.
Issues to be raised include refuse co
llection, integrated transport, business support and sustainability, and decision making. The meeting starts at 6.30pm for 7pm and a free shuttle bus will run from Hebden Bridge station to the meeting from 6pm.
Hosted by Calderdale councillors, the area forums are an opportunity for people to receive feedback on the progress of issues that were raised at the area conferences, as well as to tell council members and officers about other issues that are important to them in their area.
Kersten England, Calderdale Council's group director for community services, said: "The area conferences were very well attended, with lively discussions raising many issues and comments about the things people value in their locality and things they would like to change.
"We now plan to build on that with area forums, bringing the council even closer to the communities we serve. I would urge everyone to attend their local area forum – it's a great opportunity to tell us about the issues important to you in your area."
Anyone with an interest in their local area, including representatives of faith groups, the voluntary and community sector, residents, police, the health service and local businesses, is welcome to attend.

The forums will run for a year and will then be reviewed to establish a way forward.
