THERE were three winners for Hebden Bridge and the surrounding area in this year's Yorkshire in Bloom contest.
In the neighbourhood category there was a prize for Mytholmroyd Station Partnership for their work on improving the railway station for the second year running.

Geoff Mitchell, chairman of the partnership, said: "We are delighted to get the award again.

"The great thing about this is that it is the neighbourhood award so it is for our community involvement and that's what is most important to us. What we are doing here isn't just about planting pretty flowers but about getting everyone, local residents and even schoolchildren taking pride in the area."

One of the things that impressed the judges was the use of local children's artwork in the windows of the old station building.

Elsewhere, in the pubs and restaurant category the Lord Nelson, in Luddenden, won a gold award, and the White Swan, in Hebden Bridge took home a silver gilt classification.

Mytholmroyd Station Partnership are holding a winter planting session at the station on Saturday, October 11, from 10am to noon. Anyone wanting to help out can pop along to the station.
