Jeremy Corbyn wins landslide victory as new Labour leader

Jeremy Corbyn has won the Labour party leadership contest after more than 250,000 people voted for him.

He was confirmed as leader today at a special conference in London, defeating Yvette Cooper, Andy Burnham and Liz Kendall.

Mr Corbyn took 59.5 per cent of the vote - enough to win the contest outright without second preference votes having to be counted.
