A severe weather warning has been issued for ice in Calderdale.

The Met Office is warning people to be extremely careful after temperatures plummeted over night.

It will be rather cloudy today but mainly dry with the occasional bright or sunny interval. There will be a few isolated snow showers. It will continue to be very cold with a brisk easterly wind. Temperatures are not expected to rise above three degrees celsuis. But with the gales it is expected to feel more like minus eight degrees celsuis.

Tonight the cold will continue with the occasional light snow shower. Temperatures will drop to minus two degrees celsuis.

The snow is expected to continue into Monday but there will also be a few sunny intervals. The maximum temperature will be four degrees celsuis.
