RICHARD Roberts, in goal for Saints, was on tip top form and pulled off save after save including a triple save to deprive Crossley whilst at the other end Ryan Roberts, passing three defenders, made no mistake in opening up t
he scoring.

With the second half starting with Saints in front by only one goal this game was wide open but with clever interlinking play between Jack Crabtree and Joe Elwin Ryburn's defence was pulled apart leaving Elwin to smash in for goal number two.

Elwin was in the thick off it again with a corner kick that gave Cieran Taylor a shot at goal which was blocked only for Seb Holmes to slide in goal number three.

Roberts, sprinting from the half way line, slotted past the goalkeeper for goal number four. Number five came from an own goal after Jay Glover’s persistence saw the ball ricochet into the back of the net off the goalkeeper.

There was no mistake with goal number six when Roberts weighted a perfect cross to the far post for Taylor to score. Elwin running through the middle of the pitch slotted away goal number seven and shortly after he was deprived of his hat trick when his corner kick seemed to cross the goal line. Jack Crabtree deserved his brilliant chip goal from distance after his afternoon of determined effort.

The final goal came from an Elwin cross into the box and bounced in off a Ryburn player.

SAINTS quickly went two goals down before the referee gave a penalty for handball, Joe Elwin calmly taking the penalty to fire them back into it.

Ryan Roberts clipped the crossbar but as the second half started it was left to Elwin to bag his brace and get the equaliser with a superb shot across the goal evading the outstretched arms of the goalkeeper and nestling in the bottom corner of the net.

Roberts hit the post and it looked as if this was going to be one of those days. The referee gave a free kick to Ryburn for a back pass and Sam Rowntree, Jarred Brooks, Jake Grannan, Jacob Shaw, Jack Crabtree, Josh Highley and Seb Holmes, all supporting Richard Roberts, in goal somehow managed to keep the ball out.

Having survived that scare Saints were in trouble again when the referee pointed to the spot claiming he had seen a deliberate handball. Ryburn retook the lead with the penalty.

This seemed to fire up Saints and Jay Glover wasted no time bringing Saints level again.
