HEBDEN Bridge travelled to face Bradford 1 in 12 club at Northowram on Sunday for what turned into a really entertaining game with good individual performances on both sides.
Hebden captain Jeff Anderson won the toss and put the hosts in, opening bowler Laurence Massey producing a fantastic tight spell to trap opener Richard Hallows lbw with just one run on the board and then produced a superb delivery to bowl Mewham for
four.

At the other end by Simon Cartlidge conceded just 11 runs from his first five overs and was unlucky to have numerous lbw appeals turned down.

James Mackintosh replaced Cartlidge and dismissed their number four with a superb catch by his father Andy at second slip to leave the hosts reeling on 18 for 3. This brought 1 in 12 club captain Lee to the crease and together with opener Lacy the pair put on 77 for the fourth wicket.

Desperate measures were called for and Hebden captain Anderson came on and bowled Lacy with his second ball for a solid 29. Two balls later he trapped Lee lbw just two short of his half century to give Hebden the momentum again with the home side struggling at 96-5.

Massey came back to take two more wickets to finish with the superb figures of 4 for 12 from his eight overs. Andy Mackintosh dismissed the big hitting Comber for 29 but Hebden couldn't break their decent last pair of Malik and Illy who put on 52. It was with some relief for the away side that Mackintosh picked up his second wicket to bowl Malik for an assured l Continued on page 15
