Hebden Bridge Chess Club's A team scored their second successive 4-1 win when they played Brighouse at home at the Trades Club, Holme Street on Monday evening.
Brighouse is going through a low periods lately, and the visitor’s cause was not helped by a default on board 5.

Nonetheless, most of the games were close. Dave Shapland on board 2 fought back from a piece down to win a difficult endgame.

Wins from Dave Wedge and captain Alastair Wright saw the team home comfortably.

The individual results were: D. Wedge 1, R. Broadbent 0; D. Shapland 1, B. Bendall 0; A. Wright 1, R. Grandage 0; A. Leatherbarrow 0, P. Whitehouse 1; N. Sykes 1, default 0.
