ROBINWOOD Robins were just edged out of a good, even game by Pink Panthers in last week's Todmorden Sports Centre Netball League matches.
Robins led in the first half but Panthers found their shooting boots in the second half and won it 11-10.
Rangers had some players playing out of position in their lively game against Lions Pride, but it proved to be a satisfactory comeback game f
or Sophie Bentley while Kathryn Dempsey and Tina Smith, fast moving in the centre, allowed Samantha Horne to shoot some good goals, gaining her Rangers' player of the match award.
Lions made Rangers work hard to take their early lead and defended well, but Rangers did enough to win it by an 11-4 margin.
The match between Thundercats and Windies was a very tight game, it was end to end to begin with and the scores levelled at two all before Thundercats built a five goal advantage by half time. They put in some good work around the circle to capitalise on any opportunity at the net.
Windies began intercepting well and at one point had brought the scoreline to within one goal.
But Cats kept their cool and some excellent shooting saw them seal victory 11-9.
Jammy Dodgers didn't have enough players to field a team last week, so Tod Terriers were awarded the win by the league's 10-0 default score.
Jumping Jacks gave BRG a good game, played at very fast pace and with some excellent defending kept the score down. BRG are a tough proposition and kept building their lead to the 25-10 winning scoreline but it was not easy as they were made to work for it.
