(West Riding County Cup aet)

A SENSATIONAL solo effort from Steve Senior helped Hollins Holme book their place in the third round of the WRCFA County Cup on Sunday.

The talented winger beat four men before curling t
he ball past the keeper in the dying minutes to secure a 4-3 victory over Bay Horse East Ardsley.

Hollins, though, really should have had the match wrapped up long before after dominating the first half against their rivals from the Heavy Woollen Sunday Alliance. The home side had stormed into a 2-0 lead by half-time – only to let Bay Horse back into the match after the interval.

Tom Booth had put Hollins in front when he broke free and curled the ball past the Bay keeper, while a superb passing move was finished off in style by Simon Newbitt's volley.

However, Hollins took their foot off the gas in the second half and allowed the visitors to level.

First a scrambled effort from a corner gave Bay hope, before the Hollins defence were caught napping as the opposition striker slotted home the equaliser. Hollins retook the lead through Newbitt's penalty after Booth was hacked down in the box, only for Bay Horse to level again – keeper Steve Butterworth spilling a corner with the loose ball poked home.

However, Hollins snatched the victory when Senior danced through the Bay defence to score.

- Brandy Wine had a morning they will want to forget as they lost 10-0 at Campion Park Avenue.

In the Sunday League third division Albert Rovers and Stubbing Wharf drew 2-all.
